Kylie - the perfect little patient :)

Now, I may sound like I'm about to start bragging ... but, well it is true.  Kylie is seriously the perfect little patient.  Really!  Okay, maybe I am bragging just a bit.  Whether it be the pediatrician, dermatologist, dentist, or nurse - Kylie has been on her A-game each time.  I am still amazed at how well she handled the allergy testing back a few months ago.  The nurse came in with all the little needles for the scratch test, which would terrify most kids.  Kylie took it in stride.  The nurse initially asked us to lay Kylie across our lap.  I told her that I wouldn't mind doing that, but I was pretty sure that Kylie would do whatever she asked of her.  So, the nurse asked her to lay on her belly and hold still, and that's exactly what she did.  The nurse was astonished.

Kylie's most recent trip to a medical professional was to one of our favorite guys, Dr. Kyle Dalton.  He is really an awesome man.  I met him first through one of my great college friends, Maggie.  She is his neice, and we would have bible study over at his house at times.  So, naturally - he became my dentist.  I converted Toby when we got married, and now we're inducting Kylie into the awesomeness of Dalton Designer Smiles ;)

Here is Kyliebug waiting for Mommy and Daddy to get their teeth cleaned first.  In between pacing the floors with excitement, she checked out her possibilities.
Which smile do I want??

She waited and waited and waited some more.  I think she was getting rather impatient.  She kept trying to sneak back there to see where all that drilling and noise was coming from.  Finally, it was her turn. She looked a little unsure and slightly frightened.  Haha.

My big girl!

First, she got her teeth cleaned.  It was easier for the hygienist to have her lay on my chest, which raised her higher, so that is what we did.  She tickled her finger with the electric tooth brush, and then tickled her teeth with it.

Now it was time for the big guns.  But, of course ... we had to wait on Dr. Dalton to finish up with another patient.  Doesn't it always seem to take forever even if it's just a few minutes??  :)

Patiently waiting...

Finally it was time to check for cavities and make sure that everything was growing in properly!!  Dr. Dalton told Kylie that she was doing just great ... no cavities!

Stick your tongue out!

I attribute Kylie's great report to her OCDness.  She loves to brush her teeth.  I help her brush them occasionally, but for the most part - she does a great job.  GranJan got her an electric toothbrush for Christmas, and that's what she's been using up til now.  She got a new super cool one from the dentist, but she is having a hard time using it because it doesn't "turn on!"  She keeps trying to push the grippy part thinking that it will magically start vibrating.  That kid cracks me up.

I keep hoping that she has inherited Toby's genes in the teeth department.  Toby has never had a cavity.  Lucky sucker.  I have always been riddled with them, but I brush meticulously; whereas, Toby MIGHT brush them once a day.  What gives?!  But, I do have one up on Toby - he doesn't have a gold tooth like me :-D  I'm worth more ... ;)
